A second opinion is most useful when the doctor can see what has already been tested and why. Start with a one-page timeline rather than a large collection of screenshots.
Create three sections
Keep investigations, treatment records and questions separate. Include the date and laboratory reference range for blood tests. For previous IVF, request the stimulation summary, egg collection findings, fertilisation record and embryo transfer report from the treating clinic.
Explain what you need help deciding
You might be deciding whether to repeat a test, try a different treatment or pause. Write that question at the top of your notes. Explain any financial, travel or work constraints; these affect how a practical plan is organised.
Avoid comparing isolated numbers
A report belongs to a particular stage of care. Ask what is still relevant and what genuinely needs repeating. Do not stop prescribed medicines while waiting for the new appointment. Before leaving, ask for the reasoning behind any proposed change and a copy of the plan.
